Kettlebell Training

Kettle BellThe kettlebell originated in Russia and offers a different kind of training using dynamic moves targeting every aspect of fitness – endurance, strength, balance, agility and cardio endurance. Kettlebell workouts have been around for hundreds of years but have been ‘rediscovered’ due to the variety of intense workouts they offer. All athletes can benefit from kettlebell training; try it for yourself at North Shore Elite Performance, where we have trainers certified in this interesting and fun work-out tool.   After using kettlebells for a few weeks you will experience:

  • Improved coordination and agility
  • Better posture and alignment
  • Improved efficiency since you train multiple fitness components in the same session– including cardio, strength, balance, stability, power and endurance
  • Increased bone density –since these work-outs are functional and weight-bearing, they keeps your body strong, making both daily tasks and athletics easier and making you less prone to injury
  • Increased efficient at other types of exercise
  • Increased power development and endurance, a necessity for all sports as well as everyday activities
  • Protection from athletic injuries – many injuries happen when you are moving quickly and have to come to a stop or quickly change direction (eccentric deceleration). Kettlebell exercises actually train the body in eccentric deceleration, which can translate to a healthier, stronger body on the court or playing-field
  • Low risk of injury when you use good form and the right weights
  • Simplicity – the exercises are simple, the workouts are straightforward and you only need one piece of equipment
